Glattalphütte SAC – Alpine Hut & Karst Plateau Base
The Glattalphütte SAC is a distinctive alpine hut located on the vast Glattalp karst plateau, above the Muotathal in the Canton of Schwyz. Known for its wild limestone landscape, sinkholes, and remote atmosphere, the hut serves as a base for alpine hiking, karst exploration, and demanding non-glaciated routes. It is a place where geology and alpinism intersect, offering a very different alpine experience from glaciated high-mountain regions.
