Route Description

The approach begins from Braunwald and heads toward Ortstockhaus on a well-marked mountain path. After a short, steady ascent, the entrance to the via ferrata is clearly signposted.

The route starts with an easy ramp, allowing users to adjust to the cable and rhythm of movement. Soon after, the terrain becomes steeper, featuring a fun sequence of iron rungs that lead up a vertical section. A scenic traverse follows, giving uninterrupted views of the surrounding ridgelines. The ferrata continues with alternating ramps, steps and short walls, all secured and never overly strenuous.

Near the top, the gradient eases and the cable leads directly toward Ortstockhaus, where the route ends beside the mountain hut. From here, a relaxed descent follows a marked hiking trail back toward Braunwald.

Braunwald is a car-free resort accessible via funicular from Linthal. From the Braunwald station, follow well-marked paths toward Ortstockhaus (approximately 45–60 minutes). The start of the ferrata is signposted along the way. After completing the route, return via the hiking trail back to Braunwald.

The ferrata is free to access and does not require permits. Equipment rentals may be available in Braunwald during peak season.
