Voralphütte SAC – Alpine Hut & Glarus Alps Hiking Base
The Voralphütte SAC is a traditional alpine hut located in the Glarus Alps, above the Linthal region. Set in open alpine terrain with impressive views of surrounding limestone peaks and grassy basins, it functions primarily as a base for alpine hiking, scrambling, and multi-day traverses, rather than technical glacier mountaineering. Its character is calm, authentic, and strongly connected to classic Alpine walking culture.

Why This Hut Is Worth Visiting
At around 2,100 m, the Voralphütte SAC represents the essence of classic alpine hiking in the Glarus Alps: long approaches, open landscapes, and a strong sense of remoteness without glacier commitment. It is an ideal hut for those who value movement, continuity, and silence over summit collecting.
